As an important transportation hub and water-land transshipment center connecting Ningbo City to Xiangshan Port, Hanling has been named "city" for thousands of years. When Wang Anshi rebuilt the lake boundary when Wang Anshi ruled Yin in 1048, Hanling had formed a regular market every five and ten. In 1140, the prime minister of the Southern Song Dynasty, Shi Hao, passed by here and wrote a poem: "Siming's landscape is different in the world, and the scenery of East Lake is especially good. The village is called Hanling, the fisherman's song and the sound of the axe". The excitement of that year can be seen.
Hanling is a typical ancient water village. A clear stream surrounds the entire village, and a century-old street runs through the front and back of the village. Hanling Village used to connect Tangxi, Meishan, Chijin, Jin'e, Xianxiang, Dasong, Zhanqi, Songao and other coastal villages and towns with Dongqian Lake to Ningbo. It was a transit hub for people, goods and water. Business travelers gather and the market is thriving. In the past, people and materials used boats to travel from Zhongtang River to Mozhi Village, from Dongqian Lake to Xiabu Beach in Hanling, and to change to mules and horses to go over the mountains and enter Xianxiang and other coastal areas.
This project is located at Huanhu East Road, Dongqian Lake, Yinzhou District, Ningbo, with a total construction area of 37.97 million square meters. While continuing the traditional ancient village texture, this project fully sorts out the street/alley/yard space structure and compacts the tradition of the ancient village. The spatial layout is organically combined with the modern leisure lifestyle, and a series of cultural node spatial shaping (Panchi, Zuomatang, Shuifutou, old tree withered well, seeking roots and ancestors...) in a limited site.
While continuing the surrounding architectural texture, a typological study was carried out on the typical courtyard features of residential buildings in eastern Zhejiang, and five basic prototypes were extracted from them.
And on the basis of these five prototypes, the courtyards and buildings were updated and reorganized to form four innovative models of single-family, row, courtyard, and six-in-one courtyard, basically ensuring that each household achieves a “one household in the front courtyard and backyard patio”. The "three courtyards" model, especially the quadrangle courtyards and six courtyards, not only fully enjoy their own private courtyards, but also has a public courtyard that can be used by several families to communicate with neighbors. This public courtyard is also a transitional space for residents from the public realm of the streets and lanes to the private courtyard. The door of each household also opens to this courtyard, so that residents can fully feel the "deep courtyard" of the traditional courtyard. Experience.
In order to ensure that the traditional ideas can finally be realized, both rational and rigorous and cost-effective technical means are indispensable. In Hanling's architecture, modern methods and traditional craftsmanship are combined to restore the style of residential buildings in Eastern Zhejiang.
How to balance the façade effect of traditional blue bricks with the requirements of the building’s thermal insulation and structure and ensure a certain degree of economy, so that the external wall can be "extremely thin" is the difficulty in the construction of the external wall of this project. The method is to use 200mm thick aerated concrete blocks on the inner layer to ensure the usability of the building, and use custom-made 100-thick traditional blue bricks on the outside of the concrete blocks, which can ensure the needs of the empty brick wall construction method and a certain depth of real bricks Sew. Finally, a composite exterior wall with a total thickness of 300 is formed, taking into account aesthetics, economy and use requirements.
The design of the single building adopts the design strategy of "small, medium and big". Taking Liuheyuan as an example, each household has a small building area (120㎡-140㎡) but it can provide the owner with a "front courtyard and backyard patio".
